Brazilian Hardwoods

Brazilian Hardwood "Ipe" is a hardwood decking and frequently goes by various names, or is grouped with similar exotic hardwoods: Cambera, Ipe Decking greenheart wood, Ironwood and Pau Lope to name a few.

Most of these hardwoods grow in the South America and it is noted for extreme density and hardness.

Hardwoods as a decking is:

• Five times harder then pressure treated yellow pine
• Ipe carries the highest rating against rot and insects (termites)
• Ipe exceed the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements for slip resistance when wet
• Ipe carries the highest rating of fire resistance
• Ipe decking is so durable that when left untreated will last over 40 years and up to 100 years if deck oil is applied
• Ipe hardwood decks typically have a deep, rich brown luster with some pieces displaying a gold hue giving the wood beauty and character
  

There is no other natural material that will outlast a Brazilian Hardwood Deck.
